Mr. Pascal Candau

General Manager, Renault Technologie Roumanie

Pascal CANDAU started his career at Renault in 1987 in the CAE department as Software Support Engineer. In 1991 he joined the Engineering division for chassis Development as Head of CAE /CAD Service. In 1999 he became Assistant to the CEO. In 2001, he joined the Prototype Production Centre as Head of Logistics Department and took the position of Director in 2008. In 2012, he joined RTR in Romania as Deputy Director in charge of Vehicle Engineering. Since 2013 he was Chief Engineer of Entry segment in TCR. Starting April 1st 2015, Pascal CANDAU is the General Manager of RTR.

Dr. Peter Pleus

CEO Automotive, Schaeffler AG, Germany

Prof. Peter Pleus studied mechanical engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, where he received his doctoral degree in technical sciences in 1982.

In the same year, he began his professional career as an Assistant to the Management Board at Pleuco, Carl Pleus and Sons in Zell im Wiesental. From 1994 to 2000, he was Managing Director of Mahle Ventiltrieb.

In 2001, Prof. Peter Pleus became a Member of the Management Board of Schaeffler Automotive, where, in 2005, he was appointed as Chairman of the Management Board Engine Systems.

When the company’s legal entity changed to Schaeffler AG in 2011, he assumed the position of Member of the Executive Board Automotive responsible for the Engine Systems Business Division. Since January 2014, he has held the position of CEO Automotive and is responsible for the Engine Systems and Chassis Systems Business Divisions as well as Global Key Account Management Automotive.

Professor Corina Sandu

Professor, Virginia Tech, USA

Corina Sandu is Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Virginia Tech, Associate Department Head for Graduate Studies, and Director of the Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Laboratory.

Her research expertise lies mainly in multibody dynamics, terramechanics, and vehicle dynamics. She had published over 136 journal and conference peer-reviewed papers. Is the Editor-in-Chief of the SAE Int. Journal of Commercial Vehicles, Associate Editor of ASME Journal of Computational and Nonlinear Dynamics, and Associate Editor of the Mechanics Based Design of Structures and Machines. Is the Technical Committees Executive for ASME Design Engineering Division, Second Vice-President of the International Society for Terrain-Vehicle Systems, and a member-at-large of the SAE Engineering Meetings Board (EMB).

Professor Cornel Stan

Director of the Research and Technology Association at the West Saxon University of Zwickau, Germany

Professor Cornel Stan received the Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering from the Technical University of Bucharest, Romania in 1976, the PhD. in Internal Combustion Engines in 1984 from the University of Zwickau, Germany and the Doctor of Sciences in Automotive Engineering from the same University in 1989.

Professor Stan gives lectures in Applied Thermodynamics, Internal Combustion Engines and Alternative Propulsion Systems at the West Saxon University of Zwickau, Germany as well as in the Universities of Paris (F), Pisa (I), Perugia (I), Kronstadt (Ro), Berkeley (USA). The research fields of Professor Stan comprise the Automotive Propulsion Systems, the Direct Injection Systems, the Simulation of Thermodynamic Processes, Combustion Processes, Alternative Fuels and the Energy Management on Board of Automobiles. He is author or co-author of 27 books in Germany and in the USA as well as of 150 technical papers and 40 patents. Cornel Stan is Honorary Professor and Doctor Honoris Causa of the University Transilvania of Brasov, Romania; Russel Severance Springer Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Berkeley University of California, USA and Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers - SAE International.
