Travel
The nearest airports for the international traffic are the International Airport Henri Coanda - Bucharest (168 km far from Brasov) and the one in Sibiu (142 km far from Brasov). In Brasov almost all travel agencies sell and book plane tickets for major air companies.
If you prefer to travel by train, check the site of the Romanian Railway Company (CFR) for a train timetable. Brasov is a major Romanian railway hub. Between Bucharest, the capital, and Brasov there are many trains daily.
To reach Brasov driving your car, and also to find locations inside Brasov, the best choice is the ROAD-2008 digital map for Garmin navigation devices.
Transport from the Airport
By car: You can reach Brasov by driving on road E60 (Bucharest - Brasov)
By train: Tickets can be bought one hour before departure at the station, or in advance at the CFR booking office (CFR Agency). Supplements are payable on rapid and express train, for which seats must be reserved in advance.
By bus To travel by bus please contact a travel agency.
Transport in Brasov
City transportation is being provided by:
RATBv bus / trolley bus, with a ticket of 1.50 lei or
Taxi companies, which offer services for about 1.35 lei/km.
RATBv travel itineraries linking the City with Poiana Brasov or suburban regions have other costs/ticket.
Climate
Brasov has a temperate-continental climate with cold and relatively wet weather in the mountains. The summer nights in Brasov could be a little chilly. The average temperature is 7.6 ºC and the annual average humidity in the air is 75%. The highest temperature in summer is 35.0 ºC and the lowest temperature in winter is -25 ºC.

Foreign Exchange, Banking Facilities
The Romanian currency is the "Romanian Leu" (RON). Currency exchange booths are available at the airport terminals, railway stations, travel agencies, banks and various places in the city. Major credit cards are usually accepted in most hotels, restaurants and certain shops in the city. Obtaining cash against ATM or credit cards is very easy from the ATM cash machines that can be found at almost each bank office, hotel or on the street. Electricity
The electricity is 230 V, 50 Hz. Japanese, UK, USA and other visitors: please note that Romania has European/continental-type electric plugs.
Liability and Insurance
The organisers cannot accept liability for any personal accidents, loss of belongings or damage to private property of participants and accompanying persons that may occur during the Congress. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements to obtain health, travel and property insurance before their departure.
